Phnom Penh, Sep 13, 2012 (Prensa Latina) The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) draws here a future green energy connection in its 30 ministerial conference on renewable resources.

Inaugurating the workshop, Cambodian Prime Minister, Hun Sen, called to focus on clean energy like those coming from a water power, wind, solar, biomass and biogas.

While acknowledging the value and potential of nuclear power, he considered that have to be fully assessed weighing the advantages and the risks to safety.

Given the cost and complexity of the latter option, successive interventions put the main emphasis on getting closer to what nature provides and require less investment.

The secretary general of the Malaysian ministry of industry, Datuk Loo Took Gee, said that its main function is to promote green energy compared to most companies indifferent to that end, that they need to know more of investment in climate.

In his view, the alternatives proposed in this conference can also help the Asean community conceived in 2015 attract more tourists.

On the table of discussion was projected the perspective of electrical interconnection between the 10-member of the regional bloc and Took itself addressed the railroad project from China to Singapore, passing through the Indochinese peninsula.

Malaysia offered itself to invest in Cambodia, where, according to its master plan until 2020 - will require an additional capacity of 3,173 megawatts installed to the 1,873 000 today.

The ministers also meet with representatives from China, Japan and Korea in the Ninth Asean +3 Conference in the energy business forum of the block.
