PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - Three super models have emerged as promising lead actresses in recent years but have been turning down local acting jobs because of other commitments, according to the the latest edition of Angkor Thom.

The magazine's September 10-16 edition says Saray Sakana, Ny Munyneath and Mak Sensonita are challenging other actresses with their talent and beauty.

Saray Sakana, a Freshie Girl from 2006, has enjoyed great success as a TV personality, appearing in local and international commercials as well as more than 30 movies.

These include "Samot Besdong" (Heart Sea), "Preahchan Kiev" (Blue Moon), "500 Chnam Chamsne" (500 Years Waiting for Love) and "Besdong Rongkrus" (Broken Heart).

She recently landed a role as a lead actress in a movie being made by a Malaysian producer. But she has rejected acting roles with four local producers as she is too busy modeling and performing abroad, the report said.

Ny Munyneath, who is currently modeling in Australia, joined the entertainment industry in 2007. She has starred in more than ten movies including "Phka Knung Phka" (Flower in Flower), "Reach Cheany Dungchet" (My Love) and "Chrus Broling Pdachsne" (Death Volley).

She recently completed shooting "Lorng Macha Ngang"
(Haunted Peacefully) and is preparing to star as lead actress in another movie with Bayon TV.

The Angor Thom report said she had also turned down two other movies as she is too preoccupied with her modeling, television and advertising work.

Mak Sensonita has meanwhile turned down five local and international producers and is now preparing to appear in the CTN production "Nak Meankun" (My Greatest Helper), the magazine said.

The winner of the Miss Bridgestone crown in 2007 has already starred in more than ten movies. These include "Tek Pnek Cheay Den" (Border Tear), "Mech Krohorm" (Red Sky) and "Ko Preng Chomlerk" (Strange Lover).
