PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - Khmer Art Association chairman Sos Mach
is furious with the sexy outfits worn by some entertainers.
"It's so hard for me to bear this burden as I'm the one who has to take responsibility," he told CTN on August 30.
"These stars actually intend to wear sexy dresses," he said. "They like to profit from their boyfriends, friends and fans.
"To be famous, however, they don’t have to flaunt their sexiness by showing their breasts, for example."

Sos Mach urged scantily-clad stars to reconsider their activities.
"Let's look at famous stars like Chorn Chanleakena, Meng Keopich Chanda, Orch Sokun Kanha and Sokun Nisa who are top stars but never dress in sexy clothes," he said.
Sos Mach stressed that fame should come with talent being admired rather than criticized.
"If stars dressing sexily were under control of the Khmer Art Association, we would advise them," he said.
"However, their origins are unclear. Some have acted or sung in just a couple of songs and then call themselves stars.
"They take photos of themselves wearing sexy clothes that are unacceptable and affect stars who are good and moral."
Sos Mach said his association was working on the issue with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, noting that the future of Khmer culture was at stake.
He also noted that some stars had changed their behavior after being contacted by the association, notably the large-breasted singer Chai Lydalen.

Why don't you naked and dance for your fans and for your fame? You're showing your little girls to please your fans ,Right!? Be a topless dancer is better for you to earn more money. Too much for nothing as a Khmer singer and depending on what kind of songs have been sang, even that, it looks so dirty with white outfit if it is a black would be better. We all know that it’s not just only our neighboured countries could do but we Khmer can do it too if there is no barriers of culture.

Too much of the westernization is bad for khmers woman to be influence by revealing bare breasts on stage to please the wrong groups of fans.For me is too cheap and too childish for Khmer's star to copy westerner's stars.

Do you understand Khmers tradition!? I am not a preacher I lived a broad all my life,born in Cambodia raise in abroad seen many sexy dress or naked women.
But,khmers role model should cover up her private parts and she was entertainer of families oriented or there kids watching her.Is that appropriate to you?

In fact, there are hundred, not thousand of Karoke bars in Cambodia, that used/abused women as sexed slave. Why should we even care about this photo.
I think it's becoming a big deal because even westerners are finding this quite provocative, especially for a more traditionally conservative country like Cambodia. But like what was stated in the article, some of these girls are doing strictly for sex appeal and attraction, yet they don't want to seen at all as trashy or slutty. Ironic though, isn't it?
