Police officer in court for alleged rape of 16-year-old [A colonel raping his own maid]

SIEM REAP (Cambodia Herald) - A senior police officer  appeared in court over the weekend for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl, an official said.

Doung Thavry, of the Anti-Human Trafficking and Minor Protection Department, said Lieutenant-Colonel Ou Ke Hoeun  was arrested in Banteay Meanchey on Saturday.

The 53-year-old suspect appeared in court in Siem Reap on Sunday, he said.

The victim, who has asked for $5,000 in compensation, has accused the police officer of raping her at the Chamrong Chamroeun Guesthouse in Svay Dongkom commune on Tuesday.
