The Cambodian Democratic Movement for National Rescue visited South Korea

Cambodia National Rescue Party reached out to Cambodian workers in South Korea last Sunday. There are 20,000 Cambodian workers in South Korea, working mainly in factories, earning from US$800 to US$ 2,000 per month.

Over 500 came from far distances, many taking days off. I was moved by their sense of patriotism and their thirst for freedom and democracy. They follow current news, they are very politically astute and many are already members of the opposition in Cambodia. They want a Cambodia that is ruled by law. They want equal opportunity, fair and just competition and the end of the culture of impunity.

They endorse the CNRP platform that will bring justice, values and rule of law. They all cheered for CHANGE. They will call their parents back home to vote for change.

South Korea is one of the Four Asian Tigers after coming out of the ashes of many wars and military regime. Our young workers have tasted liberal democracy in South Korea, they know that it only takes leaders to lead with democratic principles. They are very connected to social media and very active.

They are planning to invite leaders of the CNRP to a bigger event in May 2013. A very successful trip. I was humbled by the youth demonstration of leadership.
