CNRP commemorates death of 2010 stamped victims

PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- The opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party held religious ceremony Friday afternoon near former Diamond Bridge to pay tribute to spirits of people who died during the 2010 stampede. 

CNRP invited seven Buddhist monks to chant prayers for the victims, and after that leaders of CNRP will place flowers and hold meditation for the spirits of victims, said party official Man Phalla. 

The ceremony starting at 2:00 p.m was attended by CNRP's top leaders Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha, along with some 100 family members of the victims. 

Over 300 people were killed in the stampede on the last day of Water Festival celebration on November, 2010 on Diamond Bridge.
