PHNOM PENH (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's General Department of Immigration has rounded up 1,168 illegal immigrants from July to November this year, the National Police said on its website Tuesday. "The immigration police has conducted a census on foreigners and has arrested 1,168 foreigners of 25 nationalities for illegally living in Cambodia,"the website said.

It added that their nationalities included Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, the Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, China, U.S., Cameroon, South Korea, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Guinea, Nigeria and Ghana. "Most of them have already been deported to their home countries, "it said.

Ouk Hai Seila, head of the General Department of Immigration's investigation bureau, said most of the illegal immigrants are Vietnamese. "Up to 960 of the arrested immigrants are Vietnamese," he said.
