PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Opposition leader Sam Rainsy vowed on Friday to maintain the culture of dialogue despite recent clash with Prime Minister Hun Sen.
Speaking to supporters in Memot district, Tbaung Khmum province, he said "Samdech Hun Sen and I [Sam Rainsy] initiated the culture of dialogue and I will try to preserve it despite interruption for the sake of peace and democracy in Cambodia."
Sam Rainsy's made the comments after Prime Minister Hun Sen warned early this week to cancel culture of dialogue, following the opposition leaders' attacks.
Hun Sen also accused the CNRP of not complying with political agreement.
"For this culture of dialogue, we have to wave hands to each others and shake hands to stop attacking each others, and positively think and resolve the national issues," Rainsy told supporters.
The opposition leader said the main issues are resolved only when the two parties work together.
"The main challenges can  be resolved until parties inside and outside government work with each other," he said.
